Safeguard Helps Texas Rangers Baseball CoachesSurprise, AZ - March 29, 2003 The new Cactus League spring training facility in Surprise, Arizona is now equipped with a sophisticated video coaching camera system designed and installed by Safeguard to assist coaches and players from the Texas Rangers during the 2003 spring training season. Safeguard designers developed a four color camera system that allows the Texas Rangers to tape all pitchers and batters during spring training games. The videotapes are then edited by team personnel for viewing by coaches and players following the game. Players can review their technique, indentifying areas for improvement and coaches can track progress. The video system uses sophisticated high speed surveillance cameras from Panasonic that are strategically located in the outfield, behind home plate and at first and third base. A broadcast video switcher allows operators to select views and video tape machines record every at bat and pitch from all four views. Following spring training the system will remain in use by the Texas Rangers farm teams throughout the baseball season.
